I was born in the suburbs of Cincinnati, Ohio. Between 1969-1975, I met my lifelong mentor, art teacher Mrs. Dorothy Dobbins and spent the rest of my high school career in the art room. Ten years before "Flashdance," I took up welding because I liked the macho feel of the welding torch and became obsessed with creating massive metal sculptures from scraps of old farm machinery found on our family farm. Alarmed, my parents suggested safety goggles, and art school. At the San Francisco Art Institute I earned a BFA in sculpture and became fascinated with mixing mediums. In my artwork, I combine found objects, collected souvenirs, and travel photography in handmade frames.
These are some of my mixed medium pieces that are available for sale. Click image for dimensions. If you are interested please contact me directly.
